Abstract
Purpose: To analyze the conceptual and theoretical development of female entrepreneurship in the wine industry based on a Systematic Literature Review (SLR).
Originality/value: This study seeks to identify best practices that can guide the development of policies and actions aimed at strengthening women’s protagonism in the wine sector, while also highlighting research agendas and insights for future studies.
Methods: The SLR analyzed 25 articles retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, providing an in-depth examination of female entrepreneurship across thematic categories.
Results: The main contributions indicate that female entrepreneurship in vitiviniculture is supported by four dimensions: structural, sociocultural, organizational, and individual. Strategies include support networks, productive diversification, digital innovation, and collaborative leadership oriented toward sustainability. Best practices emphasize the importance of inclusive public policies and entrepreneurial training.
Conclusions: Despite challenges related to gender inequality, access to credit, family succession, and institutional visibility, women entrepreneurs in the wine world not only assume leadership roles but also act as agents of transformation, strengthening wine tourism and cultural/territorial identity.
